Krzysztof Hetman, at the request of Prime Minister Donald Tusk, was appointed on December 13, 2023 by the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, as Minister of Development and Technology.

A graduate of the Faculty of Political Science at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin. In 2002, he completed postgraduate studies at the University of Entrepreneurship and Administration in Lublin. Krzysztof Hetman started his professional career in 1999 by working for the Open Pension Fund. From July 2002 to August 2005, deputy director, and until May 2007, director of the Department of Regional Development of the Marshal’s Office in Lublin. He was responsible, among others, for: for the implementation of EU programs and issues related to spatial planning. Then he was appointed deputy minister of regional development.

Eastern Poland Program, EU

He held this position from December 2007 to December 2010. He supervised matters related to the implementation in Poland of the Development of Eastern Poland Program, EU regional programs (RPO) and European Territorial Cooperation (ETC) programs and the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument in the years 2007-2013 . Since June 2010, president of the Provincial Board of PSL in Lublin. On December 1, 2010, he was elected to the position of Marshal of the Lublin Voivodeship. On June 30, 2014, he became a Member of the European Parliament. He was a member of the Committee for Regional Development, the Committee for Employment and Social Affairs and the Committee for Environmental Protection, Public Health and Food Safety. In the elections to the Sejm of the Republic of Poland in October 2023, he was elected as a deputy of the 10th term.
