For residents – 3 million EUR in support for the installation of electricity storage devices

New Support Program for Residents to Install Electricity Storage Devices at Home

Starting from January 7, consumers who have installed solar or wind power plants will be able to apply for support to install electricity storage devices. Over 3 million EUR has been allocated for this purpose, and another call for support amounting to 15 million EUR is planned for this spring.

“Investments in energy storage devices are an important step towards the sustainable and secure development of the energy sector. Our goal is to help residents become active participants in the energy sector, who not only generate but also efficiently store and use green energy,” says Minister of Energy Žygimantas Vaičiūnas. According to the minister, a significant interest from residents is expected in this measure, as it is returning after more than two years, but with a threefold increase in investment support and plans to continue it consistently.

Support Available for Producing Consumers Who Have Installed Solar or Wind Power Plants

Residents who are already producing consumers, i.e., have installed solar or wind power plants, will be eligible for the allocated support. This call will allocate slightly more than 1.5 million EUR separately for the Capital City and Central and Western Lithuania regions.

Simplified Application Process to Reduce Bureaucracy

To reduce bureaucracy, the procedure for administering residents’ applications has been simplified. From now on, support will be provided to residents in one stage by accepting the application and payment request simultaneously, once the resident has installed the storage device and gathered the necessary documents.

Support Calculation Based on Fixed Rates

The compensation for residents will be calculated based on fixed rates. The rate will depend on the type of storage device chosen. The support for installing a lithium iron phosphate electricity storage device will be 380.08 EUR (including VAT) per 1 kWh of device capacity. For standard lithium-ion electricity storage devices, 314.10 EUR (including VAT) per 1 kWh of device capacity will be allocated. Each electricity consumption point will receive a compensation of no more than 15 kWh of storage capacity.

The support measure will be administered by the Environmental Projects Management Agency (APVA).
