Indeed – quick and easy profit is always tempting, but it may turn out to be a trap. Investing in gold, copper or gas should begin with a thorough verification of the company that made the offer, checking reviews and how long the firm has been operating on the market. Otherwise, as happened to a 51-year-old man from the Świebodzin district, it may end with the loss of a lifetime’s savings. The man lost more than 100,000 zloty.
Advertisements from various companies offering investments in raw materials are appearing online more and more often. Colorful charts, rapidly increasing amounts, eloquent “experts,” and even well-known faces encourage people to join, promising fast and easy profit. Many of these offers turn out to be scams. Creating graphics or applications that show fake data about rising or falling shares is very easy nowadays.
Fake visualizations encourage further payments
Fake visualizations tempt users to make additional deposits in order to earn more or recover alleged losses. It happens that victims, caught in a spiral of supposed gains and losses, even decide to take out loans. It should be remembered that some advertisements using the images of well-known people may also be scams generated by artificial intelligence.
On Monday (24 November 2025), a 51-year-old resident of our district reported to the Świebodzin County Police Headquarters. The man, tempted by an attractive advertisement and the promise of easy profit, wanted to invest in raw materials. Unfortunately, the offer turned out to be a scam, and the victim lost more than 105,000 zloty.
