Representatives of the Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union also trained alongside volunteer soldiers
On October 19, 2025, the “Tvirtas Skydas 8” exercise conducted by the National Defence Volunteer Forces (KASP) concluded in the Vilnius region. The training focused heavily on strengthening civil-military cooperation. Alongside the volunteer soldiers, participants included members of the Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union and NATO allied forces from Denmark and the United States.
Medics and paramedics worked together
Medical personnel and paramedics from the National Defence Volunteer Forces and the Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union, operating as part of a medical unit, provided urgent medical aid to simulated battlefield casualties evacuated by helicopter – stabilizing their condition and effectively saving lives.
The tactical exercise “Tvirtas Skydas” is the final stage of a three-year military training cycle for the National Defence Volunteer Forces. It offers an opportunity to assess the readiness of specific units to carry out national defense tasks.
