Delivery of Air Defense Systems to Ukraine


Lithuania continues its unwavering military support for Ukraine. At the end of last week, Ukraine received short-range man-portable air defense missile systems with missiles intended for its armed forces.

Key Areas of Support in 2024

This year, Lithuania’s main support priorities for Ukraine include urgent needs such as air defense, ammunition, drones, and anti-drone systems, while simultaneously developing Lithuania’s defense industry. Additionally, Lithuania will support Ukraine’s defense sector by financing weapons production within Ukraine.

Participation in International Defense Initiatives

Lithuania will contribute to the Demining Coalition, which it co-leads with Iceland, as well as other Capability Coalitions in which it participates. Military assistance will also be provided through international funds and collective initiatives. Furthermore, Lithuania remains committed to training Ukrainian soldiers and ensuring the rehabilitation of wounded servicemen.

Total Military Assistance Provided

Since the beginning of the war, Lithuania has provided Ukraine with military aid worth over €767 million. Overall, Lithuania’s long-term support for Ukraine has exceeded €1.5 billion.
